To celebrate our wedding anniversary we went a few days to Tagaytay. Tagaytay is known to be the second summer city of the Philippines and is only 55 km from Manila. The town is situated on the rim of the Taal lake. Taal (pronounced as: Ta-al) is the smallest active volcano in the world. Inside the actual crater of Taal is a lake with a small island. The Volcano itself is situated in an other lake (Lake Taal) on an Island (Luzon). According to vulcanologist the rim where Tagaytay is situated is a very old crater. So you can easily say that there is an island in a lake on an island in a lake on an island. We have booked a room in a small but very comfortable hotel. The Mi-Jo hotel is situated about 200 m from the main road through Tagaytay. Rooms are very comfortable, clean and with good beds. Prices vary from 1800 and up per night. It is advised to make reservations because the hotel is very much in demand. The staff is friendly and a small breakfast is included in the price. Some rooms have a refrigerator, and all have air conditioners (in case [...]

Comments

September 9, 2010, ludwig fuentebella writes: Hi Jan,

i would like to express my appreciation for your posts re: trips you made. i am a filipina but having malls around me made me forget about the beauty of my country and the simplicity it could offer without spending too much. thank you so much for that. on the other hand, it was also a big help for me right now since my boyfriend of two years will be visiting me for the first time and it helps to have your take about these places for the reason that you are seeing it on a different perspective which i would say would be my bf's perspective too considering that he hails from another country like you. i have been looking up for places to dine at in tagaytay and had read blogs and reviews about the restos that you had been to but your post convinced me big time to go to the following places in tagaytay...and if i may suggest that you check out sonya's garden on your next visit to tagagaytay...it's a wonderful place to retreat from the hussle and bussle of the metro... ^.^

maraming salamat and mabuhay po kayo!

May 2, 2011, Jan writes: Hi Lightandbubbly,
What a funny name you choose!
Thanks for your comment, it is realy appreciated.
I must say that our last visit to this restaurant in Tagaytay wasn't that successfull as before. Several itemns on the menu were not available. And those were the items I liked the most. So We were a little disappointed.
And sure, next time we will visit Sonja's garden.

May 5, 2011, Borakika writes: Mukhang masarap magbakasyon dyan sa tagaytay ah..
