While walking in the surroundings of Pioduran, Albay, I have taken some shots from the beautiful scenery. Pioduran is situated on the westcoast of the province Albay. Guyabano (labana), also called Soursop in English, is a delicious fruit from the tropics. Originating from the Amazone region, it was brought to the Philippines and nowadays grows in a lot of gardens. Guyabano belongs to my favorite fruits in the Philippines.
We came back from Pioduran Albay on Sunday, January 10. We have been visiting family and celebrated the 95th birthday of my father-in-law and my own 60th birthday.
Santo Niño is one of the religious fiestas in the Philippines. It is celebrated in almost all parishes usually with a procession in which lots of families are participating. They bring their own statue of Santo Niño and place it on one of the participating vehicles and / or to be blessed by the priest.
From Pioduran, Albay jeepneys are going in the direction of Ligao. After Ligao they continue to Legaspi, Tabaco or Polangui. It is a ride of about 40 kms through the mountains. There are not that many jeeps but a lot of passengers.
