There are 16 cities and municipalities in the National Capital Region (formerly known as Metro Manila). The MMDA has made rules to lesser the volume of traffic in the streets and these rules are under the UVVRP program of the MMDA but are better known as ‘color coding’. There are many people who do not know exactly when they are allowed to drive and when not. For those I have searched the internet for the exact times. NCR consists of the following: Manila proper, Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Pasay, Pasig, Parañaque, Quezon City, San Juan, Taguig, Valenzuela—and the municipality of Pateros. The scheme works as follows: License plates ending 1 or 2 cannot drive on Mondays License plates ending 3 or 4 cannot drive on Tuesdays License plates ending 5 or 6 cannot drive on Wednesdays License plates ending 7 or 8 cannot drive on Thursdays License plates ending 9 or 0 cannot drive on Fridays There is no scheme on Saturdays and Sundays and on Official Holidays Updated November 17, 2010 The Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or Number Coding Scheme starts at 7:00 am – 7:00 pm with window hours starting from 10:00 am – 3:00 in the [...]

Comments

August 2, 2011, COVEN writes: tingin ko dapat ipagbawal lahat ng motorcycles sa highway. they are irresponsible drivers who does not consider the safety of others when they are driving. pagewang gewang sa daan. walang pakielam kung may kotse sa kaliwa o sa kanan. kotse pa umiiwas sa kanila! kapag may nabangga naman haharurutan ka ng motor!! pang subdivision lang ganitong mode of transportation. minsan pa may makikita kang motor na may angkas na dalawang bata at misis tapos overtake ng overtake! pagwang gewang ang driving! kawawa mga kotse. reckless drivers ang mga nagmomotor!!

August 2, 2011, Jan writes: Although I do not understand much Filipino, I agree that motor cyclists are behaving badly when driving.

Related posts:

how to go somewhere in Manila
When someone visits Manila as a tourist, it is sometimes hard to find your way in this city.
It is hard to find a good street map of Manila and surroundings. Now I have found one. There are 125 submaps from Manila and surroundings (NCR or Metro Manila). It even has an index to search for the street, barangay, shopping center and other landmarks and buildings. The website probably has got the pages scanned from a book, which I also have and often use when driving in Manila. I bought the map / book in National Bookstore. Check here for the maps. AsianHomes-dot-biz belongs to a Brittish man and his Real Estate Agency is situated along Marcos Highway, Manila.
