dapitan00When you live in the Philippines or you are on a vacation you sometimes see lots of items which you want to bring home to decorate your place or as a souvenir.
Manila has several areas where tourists go to buy some souvenirs. Aside from department stores and the Quiapo area there is another nice place to find something special and for low prices: Dapitan.
Dapitan street is located not far from Welcome rotonda in Quezon City. At the Rotonda you have to go into Mayon street. You will find Dapitan after about 500 meters at your right.

Dapitan at the corner of Dapitan and Kanlaon Street is known for local craftware. Originally it was a depot for export over-runs for domestic sales. The wares ranging from indigenous fibers, paper, rattan, capiz, ceramics, wood and metal as gifts, home furnishings and accessories. Independently, adjacent streets have taken to similar trades and a Dapitan Tiangge, a 3-storey building offers customers and vendors more options.dapitan17

My wife and I went there a few times to look for home decoration and every time we bought something. In the months before Christmas many stores have lots of nice Christmas decoration. For sure you will find something to bring home. The place is jampacked with items but is not air-conditioned. On a hot day, be armed with a fan, a huge handkerchief and some drinking water!
